“One of my earliest memories is drawing on the kitchen table in my childhood home, but my mother had made a tabletop with a surface that allowed drawing on it and wiping it clean. This table became my endless canvas to draw on, and I drew something new on it every day.

Drawing has been my companion throughout life, and I use it in many ways. Sometimes I allow it to flow freely when I sit with pen and paper, but I also use drawing to organize myself, remember, reflect, speculate, solve problems, and find solutions. Drawing helps me clarify and bring ideas down onto paper that would otherwise remain adrift in my mind. Through drawing, I explore both what occupies my thoughts and what captures my attention in my surroundings.”
